Our cultural heritage is deeply intertwined with the concept of family (whānau) and is central to our identity, values, and way of life. It represents the collective wisdom, traditions, and practices passed down through generations, connecting individuals to their ancestors (tūpuna), land (whenua), and the spiritual world.
In Māori culture, whakapapa is a foundational concept that refers to genealogy, lineage, and the interconnected relationships between people, their ancestors, and the natural world. The term whakapapa translates to "to place in layers" or "to lay one thing upon another," symbolizing the layering of generations and the continuity of life. It embodies both a literal family tree and a broader, spiritual connection to the universe.
Our site serves as a platform to share the rich history of our family and our cultural roots, connecting us to our ancestors and strengthening our identity.
We strive to stay in communication with our whanau. Have a question about our business, or want to ask something else? Send us a message, or give us a call. We're always happy to help.
